The important thing to remember is that in Spain there are no national charities or funding for animal welfare. Financing has to be raised privately at a local level, which creates its own problems and limits the amount of work that can done. It makes ideal rescue procedures and housing as recommended by various organisations in the UK impossible. The bottom line is, financing dictates everything. But despite this dogs and cats are rescued, saved and found loving homes.
